Williams Refrigeration - part of Aga Foodservice Equipment - has supplied an advanced dual compartment external coldroom, to support the busy food court operation at LEGOLAND® Windsor - one of Britain's most popular tourist attractions.
LEGOLAND is one of the first projects undertaken by Williams to place coldrooms externally - traditionally being located inside buildings. Featuring a pitched roof to allow effective drainage in wet conditions, the new coldroom will serve the Knights' Table Rotisserie at the heart of LEGOLAND. Having the right refrigerated storage solution in place is critical to ensure that the theme park is able to cater effectively for the thousands of guests who flock into the 150-acre site every week.
Williams Southern the company's contracting division for the region managed the innovative project through from initial site survey to installation and final commissioning.
Comments Phil Rogers from Williams Southern: "Due to the expansion of catering facilities at LEGOLAND the internal space available for storage at the food court was significantly reduced. By applying the external Williams solution we were able to solve this problem by freeing-up space, while delivering the same performance benefits as normal internal coldroom models."
The LEGOLAND connection for Williams is not confined to Windsor, the company also having supplied refrigeration to LEGOLAND Günzberg in Germany, which is the newest LEGOLAND Park.
