Williams Has Cool Solution For Hoste Arms' Waste
Williams Refrigeration - part of Aga Foodservice Equipment (AFE) - has equipped an advanced, temperature-controlled, waste storage area to prevent unwanted smells disturbing the historic ambience of the award winning Hoste Arms Hotel in Norfolk.

Situated in picturesque Burnham Market, the Hoste Arms Hotel - originally built as a manor house in 1550 and even visited by Lord Nelson - is thought to be one of the first hotels in the UK to have such an advanced facility.

The purpose-built waste storage area is attached to a new Zulu themed wing, which has added eight more luxury bedrooms and impressive conference facilities. The waste area is designed to hold all of the hotel’s large rubbish bins, previously located in the car park area. The room is effectively cooled using a Williams’ high efficiency housed condensing unit outside - and a Williams’ internal cooler to maintain temperature at a cool 8 degrees Centigrade. Crucially, the units both feature low noise fans so the hotel’s patrons are not disturbed. Williams also supplied stainless steel panels for the chill room to aid easy cleaning and hygiene.
Says Paul Whittome, owner of the Hoste Arms Hotel: "We have ambitious plans for the hotel as the Zulu wing - inspired by my South African wife Jeanne - illustrates and the innovative waste facility certainly reflects our desire to offer the best possible experience for our guests.’

"All hotels should really consider a temperature controlled waste area so that unsightly and odorous rubbish does not detract from a venue’s appeal. For us it was difficult to hide six large bins in a car park area, particularly, as some of the outside seating is nearby. Now working with Williams everything is quite discreet, with the waste room blending into the hotel complex which is both a listed building and in an area of outstanding natural beauty."

Williams Refrigeration is no stranger to the Hoste Arms Hotel, having been a long time supplier of commercial refrigeration to support the extensive catering requirements, regularly serving up excellent cuisine to 150 guests. The kitchen area also features cooking equipment from fellow AFE company Falcon.
